CWDM Transceivers

Description

CWDM Optical Transceivers are designed to generate signals at wavelengths of the CWDM band. In order to create duplex data transmission channels in the CWDM system, transceivers are used in pairs.

 

CWDM transceivers are available in a variety of form factors: SFP, SFP +, GBIC, X2, and XFP. A product line of suggested transceivers allows to implement flexible technical solutions and ensure data transmission rate ranging from 155 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s in CWDM systems.

 

CWDM transceivers support all protocols used at different data transmission rates:

 

OC-3/STM-1/SDH/FE at up to 155 Mbit/s;

OC-12/STM -4/SDH at up to 622 Mbit/s;

GBE/FC at up to 1.25 Gbit/s;

OC-48/STM-16/SDH/GBE/FC at up to 2.5 Gbit/s;

GBE/FC at up to 4.25 Gbit/s;

10GBE/10FC/OC-192/STM-64 at 10 Gbit/s.

 

Depending on the rate of the transmitted signal in module transmitters, lasers of various types are installed:

  • EML (Electroabsorptive Modulated Laser);
  • DFB (Distributed Feedback) laser. A typical DFB laser has a high temperature stability, which ensures the change in lasing wavelength within 2-3 (nm) in a temperature range of 0°C – 70°C.

 

In the receptacle of modules, high-sensitivity receivers — APD or PIN — are used.

 

To carry out the on-line monitoring, DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) function is used. The DDM function allows for real-time control of the following parameters: input signal (RX) power, output signal (TX) power, module temperature parameters.

 

Changes in these parameters provide an indication of the deteriorated optical system and state of the path as a whole.
