EDFA Optical Amplifier (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) based on erbium doped optical fiber is designed to amplify an optical signal in DWDM networks.

 

Optical amplifiers of EA63xxx series include boosters, line amplifiers and preamplifiers.

Effective mechanisms of output power control and cooling of the device allow to use amplifiers at different temperature conditions.

 

These devices have a built-in mechanism for the pump laser overheating and idling protection. Amplifiers are designed for long-term operation.

 

Local control of the EDFA amplifier is carried out via the RS-232 port or using front panel buttons. All information is displayed on an integrated LCD display.

 

The remote control of the device is carried out by means of HFC Network Manager operating via SNMP protocol through RJ-45 port. The software allows to control the device parameters and observe alarm messages in the on-line mode.

 

Optical amplifiers are widely used in data transmission lines with DWDM systems, CaTV networks and etc.
